Change the narrative and overall concept: While the original project employs a narrative of traveling through time to explore library services, this is easy to adapt and change. We mainly conveyed the story of the scavenger hunt and details of the stations with signs posted near each one, so the language on these signs can be altered to fit any context that makes sense for you. The clues and codes provided throughout can also be changed to fit better with the new idea of the scavenger hunt. In our version, we connected stations visually by choosing an image to include at each one (i.e., on the locked book, used as the bot chat’s avatar, on station signs). Choosing an appropriate themed image will also contribute to the overall narrative.

Overhauling the narrative could even make this project work outside a library setting entirely. Many elements (clock, phone, etc.) are not specific to libraries, and those that are, like a card catalog, could be changed to something more generic such as a filing cabinet.
